An ever-increasing demand for affordable housing has led to the growing popularity of Modular Construction. However, a few major challenges need to be overcome. For example, how to continuously improve productivity, while maintaining quality and keeping costs down. Regarding this issue, interior finishing is one of the most challenging steps in the modular construction process. | ![]() |
What are the Challenges that come with Interior Finishing?
Drywall finishing can account for 25-35% of the production cycle. One of the main challenges is managing wet work, since the drying process slows down the entire process.
Another major challenge is minimizing material damage during transport and handling. Damage, such as cracks, not only incurs costly and time-consuming repairs but also hampers productivity and extends project timelines.
Overcoming Interior Finishing Challenges with Novelio®
We have overcome the challenges of interior finishing through innovations and improvements to products in our Novelio® Fusion range, which features greater opacity and increased width, as well as tools that enable easy application.
Our ready-to-use Novelio® Wall Finish is a quasi-dry solution that significantly shortens drywall finishing time from 4-5 days to just 1-2 days. This is mainly due to our Wall Finish requiring minimal preparation of the wall surface and allowing for direct application to the plasterboard. Our solution is also much less labor intensive, helping to reduce the total cost of installation.
Our Wall Finishes are fiberglass-based products, providing additional reinforcement to building interiors and therefore contributing to the mitigation of cracks.
Additional Benefits for Interior Finishing
Installation is very easy to learn and we provide all training. After only a few hours of instruction, employees of offsite manufacturers will be autonomous.
Our wall finishing solutions are also durable, washable, repaintable, repairable, and extremely easy to maintain. We are A+ certified in French VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) regulations; and our Clean Air technology captures 50% of airborne formaldehyde for 10+ years.
