New EPD for FibaTape® Drywall Mesh Tapes

We recently published an Environmental Product Declaration for four of our main FibaTape® Drywall mesh tapes – Classic (Blue), Perfect Finish (White), Mold-X (Green) and Xtreme (Orange).

What is an EPD?

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a document that contains quantifiable environmental data based on an in-depth assessment of a product’s complete life cycle – from the extraction of raw materials to its manufacture, distribution, use, repair, maintenance, disposal and recycling.

The EPD provides unbiased, transparent support for environmental claims made by manufacturers and can also help them identify steps to reduce the impact their sourcing and manufacturing activities have on the environment.

All information within the EPD for our mesh drywall tapes follows international standards that include ISO 1405, ISO 14040 and ISO 14044, thereby ensuring it is credible, consistent and comparable. It is also verified by a third party to further guarantee its accuracy and reliability.

The EPD fully informs consumers, professionals, companies and regulators about the impacts the products they buy, sell or regulate have on the environment. For example, architects and construction companies can use EPDs to compare and choose mesh drywall tapes for their projects, ensuring they meet sustainability criteria given by specific building certification systems, such as LEED or BREEAM.
