How to apply FibaTape® drywall tape?

FibaTape® self-adhesive joint tape is our innovative and high-performance solution for wall finishing and crack repairs. CE certified, it stands out for its exceptional strength and durability, while offering easy installation thanks to its fiberglass mesh. Perfect for reinforcing drywall joints or repairing cracks, it adapts to a wide range of environments, from standard interior walls to humid areas like bathrooms, or even spaces exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations. With its self-adhesive technology, there's no need for a base coat, saving up to 30% in installation time, while ensuring a smooth, blister-free finish.

The application of FibaTape® can be carried out in four easy steps. In addition to the tape, you will need a ready-to-use or powder joint compound and five tools – cloth, drywall trowel, sanding paper, inside corner knife, and plastering spatula.

Step 1 – Wall Preparation
Make sure that screws are even with the surface and smooth out any rough areas. The wall must be clean and free of dust.

Step 2 – Tape Application
Apply the self-adhesive tape directly to the wall. For added convenience, our tapes are also compatible with drywall taping tools. FibaTape® is easy to cut and can be repositioned multiple times.

Step 3 – Joint Compound
The compound can be applied immediately after the tape. Allow the joint compound to dry completely according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Once the first layer of compound has dried, apply a second layer to build up the joint and create a smooth surface. Let the second layer dry completely.

Step 4 – Sanding
After the final layer of compound has dried, smooth out any rough areas to achieve a seamless finish. Thoroughly clean any dust, debris, or loose particles with a wet cloth.
